Dinghy Sailing Courses for Adults

RYA Level 1 – Start Sailing

Cost of Course £110.

When you complete this short introduction into the sport of sailing, we will give you two FREE boat hires to enable you to progress your skills. To claim these FREE hires you must bring your logbook for signing off. This course can be consolidated with the Level 2 course. Suggested reading for this course is the RYA Beginners Handbook available at Fairlands reception and on the RYA website www.rya.org.uk (opens in a new window).

Notes: All courses are subject to a minimum of 2 attendees. There are no concessionary rates on courses

RYA Level 2 – Basic Skills

Cost of course £110

Last course runs on Sunday 25th May due to Lake refurbishment.

By the end of this course, the student should be able to sail confidently without an instructor on board in light winds. Suggested reading for this course is the RYA Handbook available at Fairlands reception and on the RYA website: www.rya.org.uk (opens in a new window).

Experience required: Level 1, Youth Sailing
Stage 2 or previous practical experience. Minimum age: 16
Please ensure existing logbooks are brought in on the first day of your course

RYA Level 2 - Basic Skills

Seamanship Skills

Cost of course £110
Experience required: Level 2 or two seasons' experience. Minimum age 16.

On completion, the successful student will be capable of manoeuvring a dinghy in a seamanlike manner in moderate conditions.
