Inductions

As standard, we offer a four stage induction process introducing you to the new Technogym Wellness system and equipment. You will then have a consultation and your individualised programme set up. Programme reviews will take 45 - 60 days into your membership and will continue every 60 days thereafter.

Extra Care – GP Referrals

The health and fitness consultants based at North Herts Leisure Centre have been operating a G.P. Referral for many years.

The results have been outstanding. Typical non-exercisers are now regularly enjoying the benefits of specially designed exercise programmes that take their health problems into account.

How will you benefit from the scheme?

It will involve a brief discussion on your physical and medical history, and a short fitness test, which will tell us what you need to concentrate on, for example, your flexibility may need improving.

A 12-week exercise programme will then be designed for you based on you attending at least twice weekly, which only amounts to two hours per week.

What should I wear?

You don’t need to go out and buy the latest in fitness wear; all you need to wear are shorts/tracksuit bottoms - shirt and trainers.

Will I be monitored?

Yes: during the 12 weeks, the fitness instructor who carried out your assessment will monitor your progress and adjust your programme where needed.

This may involve a brief chat during your visit to the Health Studio, or phone call, which will give you the opportunity to discuss any problems or concerns that you have.

Should you have any concerns regarding your programme or the equipment, do not hesitate to approach the instructor on duty. They are there to help.

What happens at the end of the 12 weeks?

At the end of the 12 weeks you will be given a re-assessment, which you will need to book. The re-assessment will be as the initial assessment and will give you a progress report on your achievements.
