Film: Young Victoria
Tuesday 8th September 2009

This British love story begins in 1836 and follows Queen Victoria's (Emily Blunt) early and turbulent rise to power at just 18 years of age and her marriage to Prince Albert (Rupert Friend). Together they capture the joy of two young people whose destinies have been preordained and whose decisions have been made for them, realising that their mutual regard is something all their own. The period drama also stars Jim Broadbent as King William, Victoria’s uncle; and Miranda Richardson as the Duchess of Kent and shows us the events that prompt her into a life of mournful seclusion.
